Roles of leaders is presented, and their tactics and fates. The battle resulted in the two sides reporting 24,000 troops killed, wounded, or missing, a significant portion of both armies lost. Includes guide to and descriptions of battlefield sites and remaining evidence. Presents some of the music and poetry that followed the engagement and observes the nearby national cemetery. Black-and-white photographs, some historical, and maps, 48 pages.
